Control

Keyboard

Up:

• Jump and move slightly forward
• Block a strike
• Go into the door at the end of each level
  

Down:

• Crouch and move slightly forward
• Put the sword back

Left/Right:

• Run to Left/Right

KeyPad Number 7 (Home):

• Jump Left

KeyPad Number 9 (PgUp):

• Jump Right

Shift:

• Hang on the ledge
• Walk carefully
• Pick up something
• To strike

Esc:

• Pause
• Press any other key to unpause

Spacebar:

• Show amount of time remains

Control-R:

• Restart the game, return to the title screen

Control-A:

• Restart the current level
• The time before restart within current level will *not* be called back
  

Control-G:

• Save the game. You can only save the after Prince reaches Level 3.
• The game will be reloaded at the beginning of current level

Control-L:

• Load the saved game. Can only be used at the title screen.

Control-Q:

• Quit to DOS

Control-S:

• Toggle sound on and off

Control-K:

• Set game control to keyboard
• Try this function if you've found problem on the keyboard control

Control-J:

• Set game control to joystick

Control-V:

• Show game version

Shift-L:

• Advanced to next level, however, after that, you will have only 15 minutes left.
• You can only skip up to Level 4
  

Basic Control

Run:

• Just hold Left/Right button, release the button to stop

Careful step:

• Hold Shift button and press Left/Right button
• A careful step will be stopped at the edge of a pit for the first time, as a warning. If you make the careful step again, Prince will move one step as if there is no danger.
  
• It can be used to pass a spike

Jump up:

• Press Up button

Jump forward:

• When Prince stands still, press KeyPad Number 7/9, or press Up and Left/Right button simultaneously

Running jump:

• When Prince is running, press Up button to jump
• Prince need at least 2 steps running space before the jump
• You can press Up button just before Prince takes the last step, Prince will make the jump after he takes that step
  

Climb up a ledge:

• Prince stands in front of the ledge, press Up button

Climb down a ledge:

• Prince faces outwards to the edge of the ledge, turn around, press Down button

Hanging from a ledge:

• Hold Shift button and Prince will try to catch and hang on a ledge
• Release Shift button to let Prince falls down from the ledge
• Press Up button to climb up the ledge

Crouch:

• Hold Down button, release it to stand up

Crouch forward:

• Press Left/Right button while Prince is crouching

Pick up something:

• Prince stands in front of the item and then press Shift button

Fighting

Draw a sword:

• Prince will draw the sword automatically when he confronts a guard. (If he already get the sword)
• Press Shift button, in case you have put the sword back and change your mind
  

Strike:

• Press Shift button

Move advance/back:

• Press Left/Right button depends on the opponent direction

Block opponent's strike:

• Press Up button
• It is all about timing, press Up button when the opponent strikes
• Each block will make Prince moving backward a little bit
  

Put the sword back:

• Press Down button
• If Prince get hit without holding a sword, he will die

Block and Strike:

• Press Up button to block opponent strike, at the same time, press Shift button to strike back
• Some good guards can block your strike too, so, you can do it repeatly until someone get hit.

Switch position:

• Move towards your opponent, you can actually move pass him and now you two have changed position
